3 Common iPhone Problems and How to Fix Them

With time and use, electronics deteriorate, and accidents happen. Fortunately, there are simple fixes for some iPhone concerns. The Most Common iPhone Problems and Their Fixes

It can be incredibly annoying to have a broken gadget, but before giving up on your iPhone, we advise attempting one of these remedies.

Restart your Apple device after turning it off

Even if it’s overused, your iPhone may occasionally only require a reset. You are simultaneously holding down the volume and power buttons. Check if your issue has been addressed after turning on your device again. Try one of the following solutions if the problem still exists!

Update your apps and operating system

Many issues can be caused by outdated software. Update your apps and ensure you are running the most recent version of iOS to address your problems.

To upgrade the operating system on your iPhone:

To update your software, go to Settings > General. The screen will display an iOS update notification if one is available. Let your iPhone update automatically is recommended because new features and essential security patches are frequently included in software updates. You should see Automatic Updates at the top of the screen. Open it up and turn on Download iOS Updates and Install iOS Updates.

For your Apple device’s app updates:

You can access your App Store profile by tapping the icon at the top of the screen. From there, select Update All. By selecting App Updates from the Settings > App Store menu, you can turn these updates on automatically.

If rebooting and updating your iPhone’s operating system doesn’t solve the problem you’re experiencing, try using one of the following solutions.

  1. iPhone Battery Doesn’t Charge or Drains Quickly

Modern electronic devices’ lithium-ion batteries frequently experience gradual degradation over time. Battery life dramatically decreases after 500 charging cycles, equivalent to a few years. To discover what percentage of charge capacity is left, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health on your iPhone. You may also enable Optimized Battery Charging here to slow down battery ageing.

You can perform a few things to reduce the iPhone battery drain if your battery health is at least 80% of its maximum capacity. These include:

  • Turn on Low Power Mode,
  • Disable Auto-Brightness,

After trying to forcibly restart your iPhone and leaving it on the charger for at least an hour, you can attempt the following solutions:

  • Change the USB converter and charging cord if necessary.
  • Check several wall outlets
  • Examine the iPhone’s charging port for lint, dust, and other obstructions.
  • Try utilising a wireless charger if you have an iPhone 8 or later.

If none of these fixes works, you might need a new battery for your iPhone. You might be able to get a new battery installed for free at the Apple Store if a warranty still covers your device. 2.  iPhone Won’t Connect to Wi-Fi

What could be more annoying than having a Wi-Fi network connection issue with our devices? When you experience connectivity problems:

  • Attempt to troubleshoot your Wi-Fi! Start by making sure your router is turned on and operational. Are other home appliances still connected? If not, unplug your router, give it at least 30 seconds to cool off, and then plug it back in. Verify that all the cords are in place and connected and that the lights are turned around on.
  • Verify that the Wi-Fi icon is chosen in your Control Center.
  • Still not working? Make sure Auto-Join is enabled by touching your network and navigating to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  • Try pressing Forget This Network if your iPhone is still having trouble connecting. After the second reboot of your router and device, try reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network.

If your iPhone still has difficulties connecting, try tapping Forget This Network. Try reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network once your router and device have undergone a second reboot. You can clear all Wi-Fi, cellular, and VPN data and settings.

3.  Apple Device Won’t Turn Off or On

Turning off your iPhone is impossible when the touch screen freezes or doesn’t respond. Fortunately, you can quickly push and release the volume up button to restart your iPhone.

  • The volume-down button should then be quickly pressed and released.
  • When you see the Apple logo, press and hold the power button for a few seconds before letting go.

The procedure will be slightly different if you have an older iPhone model. For the iPhone 7, you must hold the volume down and power buttons while waiting for the Apple logo to appear on the screen. Hold down the power and home buttons on your iPhone 6s, iPhone SE, or an earlier model until the Apple logo appears.
